Our Promise to You

The Mission of The Children's Center for Autism is to help young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in South Central Middle Tennessee realize their full potential through individualized and collaborative treatment.  CCA believes that parental knowledge and involvement are essential to a child's success.  Therefore, involving the family is a key component of this program.

Our Vision is to become the model for a family-centered and integrative team approach to intensive early intervention for young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Through successful replication of this model, our hope is that someday all children with autism will have the opportunity to realize their highest potential.

About Us

The Children's Center for Autism (CCA) is an intensive behavioral therapy program providing both individual and group therapy for children ages 18 months to 12 years old who have been diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).  CCA is located in Lewisburg, TN in the Child Development Center, Shelbyville, TN in the Child Development Center, and Fayetteville, TN in the Child Development Center (OPENING SOON - MORE INFORMATION TO COME).  CCA is a program of the Community Development Center, which is a 501(c)3 charitable organization.

Guiding Values

Child + Family + Staff

Child: Each child will experience individual and group therapy every day they are at the Center, with therapy sessions centered around their individualized plan of services and established goals.  Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) approaches to treatment are individualized based upon the needs of the child, and include Discrete Trial Training, Verbal Behavior, and Incidental Teaching.

Family:  A parent is the child's strongest advocate; they best understand the behavioral issues that may not be apparent to others, including child care providers and educators.  A parent's insight into their child's stressors and their ability to interpret their child's emotional state is invaluable to establishing achievable goals.  The CCA will work with parents to create therapy sessions which will help each child reach their individualized goals.  The CCA program is designed with the entire family in mind, and includes Family Counseling, Family Support Groups and a Parent Training Component.

Staff:  The CCA behavioral therapy center provides individual and group therapy by credentialed, well trained staff, including a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Registered Behavioral Technicians (RBT's).  CCA staff members are dedicated to improving the quality of life for each child in the program through evidence-based treatments, as well as providing parents with tools to help their child at home and in everyday life.

Hope

"I am very excited that a Behavior Therapy Center is opening in Marshall County as I have seen the number of children diagnosed with autism increase significantly in the past several years.  I have witnessed the benefits and successes in children who have received evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) at an early age and I am excited that this type of therapy will now be offered in our community."
